Drum Corps Report
|
|
In a sensational finish the Phantom Regiment took the lead together with the Blue Devils. Because of their excellent brass they could gain ground end left the Cadets of Bergen County behind.
The show of the Blue Devils was made for winning the championship right from the beginning. To be placed second would have been disappointing for all. Their show has the makings of being addictive. But there were some little failings in their show and so the Phantoms were able to make up leeway.
Constantly good showings and faith in their own capabilities made them win together with the Blue Devils. Its a tradition, that the winners performe their show a second time. Its also a tradition, that the outaged (musicians wholl celebrate their 21st birthday are not allowed to take part in these championships next year) leave the field without their shoes only with socks. After all the shoes were gathered, both shows of the winners were performed a last time. About 1 oclock the DCI 96 was over. Long live DCI 97! The show will go on!
See you next year, Oliver.
